Edward is referred to as "The Pioneer" because because he was the first Scribner to settle in Otisfield, arriving there on foot from Waterborough about 1794 or 1795.

Andrew Jackson ["Jackson"] Scribner Andrew Jackson Scribner, b. 1 Apr 1820; d. 2 May 1864 during the Civil War at New Orleans, Louisiana, as a member of the 30th Maine Regiment. He married twice: (1) Edner Stone, m. 29 Jun 1845; (2) Robb Cobb, m. 27 Aug 1852. Jackson is the grandson of Joseph Scribner, buried in South Otisfield Cemetery [see below], through his son John ["Bud"] Scribner and his wife Elizabeth.
